Merp, the tinker ‑ talent forest creature
woke up very excited.
He burst out of his small, leaf‑hidden home
into the rain.
Every morning he rides his bike
he made himself from sticks
collected in the forest,
And wanders around
collecting anything else
he finds useful ‑
sticks, stones, leaves,
flower petals or thorns.
Whatever he finds
he turns it into a new invention.
While riding around he ran into some friends.
Emma, the Sunflower and Zoe, the ladybug
and couldn't wait to play in the sunflower field.
Emma picks Zoe and Merp up
and puts them on her petals.
The three of them run through the field,
laughing and scaring the birds away.
They sang and danced,
Emma told them stories of Sunflower creatures
who lived here before
And had so much fun!
Emma is the only Sunflower creature Merp ever met
and he can't help but wonder
what if somewhere out there,
beyond their forest and sunflower field
there's more Sunflowers like her.
Ladybugs on the other hand...
Well, there's many ladybugs he runs into
but none of them are as playful or chatty as Zoe is!
She's always the one to lift up a mood!
It stopped raining
so they went to the pond
where they usually hang out.
Merp collected leaves,
sticks and anything else
his little tinker mind found useful
for his next invention.
Emma gave him ideas of what he could make next
and asked if he could make her binoculars
so she can search the field for any movements
and birds that like to peck on her nose
mistaking her face for a sunflower
pestle full of seeds.
Zoe sang softly and flew unbothered looking at her
own reflection in the pond.
The three of them make an unusual
but happy little bundle.
