Shy and delicate night creature
But also very curious
It is highly unlikely you would ever encounter one by
Accident as they’re very cautious
If you do see one however,
there must have been something
Very interesting about you
For it to show itself
If you ever find yourself
Wandering across the field
In the middle of the night
And you feel like someone or something is watching
Moonlap most certainly is
With its big eyes on a wing‑like head
Watching and waiting for you to move
So they can tend for their most precious night garden

They get out of their hiding
At the quietest time of the night
When the Moon shines its brightest
And the ground is very still
They collect the moonlight and spread it
Across the field while making sure
None of the flower petals get forgotten
It's funny though, don't you think
How a night creature is still attracted to light.
It gets away from brightness but still seeks glow
in the middle of the night
And what's left od the collected moonlight
On his fluffy coat
He carefully picks up to light up a room
